In our culture the church is often seen as just a once a week gathering of acquaintances who believe in Jesus. They grab some coffee and maybe a donut and then sit down for the main event, the sermon. Then the people head off for the rest of their weeks, maybe awkwardly engaging in some small talk, but ultimately having completed their religious duty and meeting their spiritual needs for the week.
However, the church is much more than that. While the instruction and learning we get from a sermon is important, the community of the church is perhaps the primary manner by which God most blesses and challenges us. One of the ways we seek to build such relationships with each other at Ashland is through our small groups. If you’ve never been to one before, don’t hesitate to check one out.
If you’re interested in joining one of the groups listed below, feel free to get in touch with their leader or fill out one of the forms found in the pews on Sunday. If none of these times or locations work for you, please let us know as know so we can look into starting additional groups.
